Wet Petals | Pétalos Húmedos was commissioned by FIND: 11th Festival International de Nouvelle Danse, 2003, in partnership with Montreal Arts Interculturel (MAI). This multimedia performance explores the physicality of loss and the nightmarish terrors left by state violence. The work focuses on the female experience and their resilience. Includes a collage of interviews from women political refugees in Canada, carried out as an integral part of the performance journey's sound score. The choreography has movement sections integrating sound sculpture with real-time processed video (Jitter).

Wet Petals was created with the generous support of the Canada Arts Council, Conseil des art et lettres de Québec, Montreal Arts Interculturel and Festival International du Nouvelle Danse. It has been presented at Montreal Arts Interculturel (MAI), Studio 303, Montréal; and Los Talleres, México City.

Many thanks to my artistic collaborators Benoît Lachambre, Aaron Daley, Ame Hutchinson, Lin Snelling and Pablo Bonacina.
