Wet Petals | Pétalos Húmedos was commissioned by FIND: 11th Festival International de Nouvelle Danse, 2003, in partnership with Montreal Arts Interculturel (MAI). The solo multimedia performance explores the physicality of loss and the nightmarish terrors left by state violence. The work is focused on the female experience and endurance, including a collage of interviews from women political refugees in Canada that I carried out as part of the piece. These interviews are an integral part of the sound score of the performance journey. I choreographed a section of the movement pieces to work in concert with sound sculpture and with live and real-time processed video (Jitter).

Wet Petals was created with the generous support of the Canada Arts Council, Conseil des art et lettres de Québec, Montreal Arts Interculturel and Festival International du Nouvelle Danse and it has been presented at Montreal Arts Interculturel, Los Talleres, México City, México and Studio 303, Montréal.
